Traditional Wash Basins

The wash basins are unique features closely related with farm work and everyday life  hores. They were communal areas where clothes were washed and women would gather.

Many women would do the washing in the wash basins, dressed in their own dirty clothes after a hard day’s work, given the precarious circumstances of that time.

Considering use and state of conservation, the most remarkable wash basins in the municipality are those located in Tigaiga –which date back to 1701 and have been recently restored-, in El Dornajo ravine, and in Castro ravine, among others.
