Araucarias

A species of conifer in the family of the Araucariaceae

Araucarias are exotic trees that originate from Norfolk Island (Australia) in the Pacific ocean
and on our islands are often planted as ornamental trees. Specimens older than 100 years
are under special protection.

They are normally tall trees with stems of 30 to 80 metres. Branches are usually horizontal
with ample space between them and are covered in leathery or needle-like leaves.
